Step-by-Step Procedures for Uploading Your Web Files with CoffeeCup® FTP Software

WIth your DSL Internet account you get a Personal Website, access to an FTP server and 10 MB of disk space. After you create your HTML pages, you can upload your files to your Personal Website using an FTP client. The procedure below provides a step-by-step procedure for uploading your files to your Personal Website.

  1. Download and Install the CoffeeCup® FTP program. It is available on the CoffeeCup Website.

  2. Open the Coffee Cup® FTP program. The CoffeeCup main screen appears. This is shown below.. Click the Servers icon button at the top left.




  3. The My Sites window appears. Click the Add option.




  4. The Server Profile Wizard screen appears. Type in a name for the profile in the Profile Name area and click the Next button. You can choose anything you want. In this example, we are using My Website.




  5. Type in your Username and Password for your novadsl.net account in the appropriate boxes.

  6. Check the Save Password box and click the Next button. In this example, we are using mtarp as a username.




  7. Type in userpages.novadsl.net in the Hostname box and public_html in the Default folder on host. Though this is optional, if you do not enter public_html, you will have to manually navigate to that folder next time you make a connection. Click the Next button.




  8. Click the button labelled No, I don't even know what that is.




  9. Click the button labelled Finish.




  10. You are returned to the MySites window with the newly created connection and settings displayed. Click the button labelled Connect.




  11. The CoffeeCup main window is displayed with your local computer directory displayed in the left panel and the Website public_html directory displayed in the right panel.




  12. To move a file from your local machine to the Website directoy, highlight the file in the local computer and click the Upload icon/button.
